Fayence, a small town in the heart of Provence

Located about an hour by road from Nice, Fayence is a picturesque town in the Var department of Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur, surrounded by hills and forests. It is one of the nine villages that make up the Pays de Fayence, a region rich in history, culture and natural beauty.
Fayence has a lot to offer to travelers who want to discover the real Provence. You can stroll through the narrow streets of the old town, admire the ancient buildings and fountains, visit the 18th century church of Saint Jean Baptiste and the chapel Notre Dame des Cypres, climb up to the clocktower for a panoramic view of the valley, or explore the sculpture garden of a local artist.
On market day (see here for market dates and times) visitors will have the opportunity to discover the most popular local products: spices, condiments, stylish Provencal clothes and soap and cosmetics.

For aeronautical enthusiasts, the proximity of the aerodrome allows them to observe gliding competitions from the village or from the runway restaurant.
Fayence is also a great base for outdoor activities. You can enjoy hiking, biking, horse riding, golfing or gliding in the nearby countryside. You can also relax at the Terre Blanche Spa, a luxurious resort with a golf course and a pool. Or you can sample the local cuisine and wine at one of the many restaurants in town.
Visitors of Fayence will appreciate the tranquility of the village, lulled by the gentle echo of the bell tower in the mountains. In the early morning, a walk in the village will give travelers the joy of visiting the artisan baker to buy their fresh croissants and other succulent local pastries. In the evening, they will have the opportunity to relax in one of the many terraces of local restaurants and enjoy a glass of local rosé wine.

We hope that this short view of the magical, sun-soaked Fayence will get you excited about your next holiday. Stay tuned to our blog for all the latest destinations stories!
